"Around the Pump" Foam System was designed for MARK-3, MARK-26 or any centrifugal pump with a 2" inlet. The "Around the Pump" Foam System is an ideal small, inexpensive device for educting a foam concentrate solution into hose lines of portable fire pumps, used in combating forest and urban / wildland fires. Includes Eductor/Mixer unit, two cast aluminum pump connecting tees' (a 2" NPSH and a 1-1/2" NPSH) pressure hose and 4' long foam pick-up hose.

Calibrated to educt foam concentrate at a variable percentage into hose lines flowing at 15/30/50/70 US gallons.
Body of the system is glass reinforced nylon making it very durable and resistant to corrosion by seawater/foam concentrate/UV radiation/electrolysis.Considered a low-energy foam system since it introduces ambient air in the foam solution at the discharge end of the hose lay. Air is added to the solution through the use of air aspirating foam nozzles or simply by surrounding air while the foam solution travels from the nozzle tip to the ground. The “Around the Pump” systems diverts water from the pump discharge, to flow through the foam eductor/mixer and it is redirected in the suction side of the pump. The pressure on the suction side being lower than the outlet creates suction in the foam eductor/mixer drawing foam concentrate through a venturi. This mixture of foam concentrate and water is then mixed to obtain a foam solution. It is important to correctly adjust the foam eductor/mixer’s adjustment knob according to the hose line flow and the foam concentrate ratio desired. The expansion of the foam solution is another important characteristic to consider for each application. As air is introduced into the foam solution, there is an increase in volume and a decrease in weight.A 10 to 1 (10:1) expansion will form foam that is 90% air, 10% foam solution. Calibrated to induct foam concentrate ratios of 0.1%, 0.5% and 1%.
